The reason Poles on here are trying to get you to call Maria Skłodowska*-Curie by her proper name isn't because we're entitled or arrogant, it's because she used the name Skłodowska-Curie, she emphasised her Polishness her whole life, she faced huge amounts of xenophobia in France for being Polish, and now a lot of people think she was French.

*The pronounciation of Skłodowska is skwo-DOV-ska

Look at the whole person. An anonymous fear submitted to Deep Dark Fears. You can find original artwork in my store. Whoa - just noticed that I drew this one two years ago. I hadn’t published it at the time, because I was worried that it wouldn’t be received as I’d intended. It bums me out when I see news stories about health, and overweight people are shown neck-down to illustrate unhealthy lifestyles. It’s weird and dehumanizing. There are some wonderful people in the world who are overweight. Anyhow, I’m going through a bunch of comics today.

It's worth noting that the reason the beaver wants the water to be deeper in the first place is that the Beaver is using the deep water as a pantry:

image

All summer and fall, beavers gather up branches with the leaves they actually eat, and store it in the deep end of the Pond, where the cold water and limited oxygen keep the leaves fresh all winter, so when it's negative 20 outside, a beaver can take a dip out of it's lodge, grab some refrigerated leaves in the (relatively) warmer water and go back to it's cozy little nap hole while everything else is out there suffering and eating bark or the like.

So it's less "there's a leak in my house" and more "OH SHIT THE FRIDGE!!"

mylordshesacactus

This instinct is so deep-rooted that if you play an AUDIO RECORDING of running water around beavers, they will immediately show up with mud and sticks trying to patch the nonexistent leak.

So in short, yes, when they see/hear running water and think "absolutely not"

limetimo

imaginig beavers yelling "THE FRIDGE!" like my mum yells "THE LAUNDRY!" when it starts raining

i have a friend who has kinda bad eczema on their right hand but their left hand is fine and thats because acidity makes eczema worse and that includes vaginal acidity and my friend is both a lesbian and a slut so they finger a lot of people and that fucks up the hand they use (their right hand). Anyways do you think BBC sherlock would deduce that by looking at my friend’s hands
